I am hoping that ANet will ignore the constant calls for a UAS button. Many a guild has worked hard to unlock skills for their membership. It would be a slap in the face to just "give away" these skills. Any competent individual could unlock 90% of his skill base with a month's playing (not grinding). Leave it be. There are far more pressing issues.

Yea I just wanted to say that I probably unlocked more skills/upgrades/runes that most of you, and I still want UA(x) because I don't want to spend anymore time getting the rest. But that was before they released info on this new PvP unlock system, this system should shut both sides up.

I just destroyed a shitload of runes this morning because I had no use for them. Minors, majors and even a superior one cause they were all worth squat.

Nothing frigging drops anymore, EVER, unless you are in Underworld and that's rare to get in because Korea is hold favor from 8am to 8pm EST.

The only thing fetching ass amounts of platinum now are Storm/Eternal bows that have skyrocketed up over 80-150k.

Guild Wars does not have an ecconomy.

Yeah the Rune Trader destroyed everything. It wouldn't be so bad if the sellback price wasnt 25 gold. I'd personally be happy with the standard 'Half What It Sells For,' because few people actually want to buy minor and major runes now anyway. The game has no economy anymore because in order for something to have an economy there needs to be a steady flow of money. Unfortunately, all of everyones money now go to the respective vendors within each town. It would be cool if they had the shops like they do in RYL, where you create a shop that can hold x items, and people just come up to you and click browse and can buy stuff without your consent so long as they pay the price listed for the item.

There is too much money in the game now, not too little. Setting up your own shops would suck, ever play ROSE? Lag city...literally.

actually, it'd cause a depression of massive proportions. Everyone would be flooding the market with easily obtainable items, thus lowering the cost dramatically. Sort of like me and my major absorption rune. When I first bought it, it sold for $2,000. When I sold it, it was worth $15,000.

If they gave us back farming, the price of absorption would go back down to $2,000 or less.

The "pvp only" was added in the end of the beta so people could get an idea what Guilds Wars pvp was really about in the shortest possible time (about two days worth of playing every month).

Theres plenty of time to build the "perfect kill everyone pvp class" but the game is balanced pretty good at the moment, you may never find the perfect build even if you was able to use every skill/rune in the game.

================================================== =======
My personal thoughts on this :
"Pvp only" shouldnt be a shortcut to having everything the game has to offer without any real effort.

With a good, balanced and teamspeak team, anyone can win the HoH, not just the top 20 ones.

The only thing worse than a misguided, directionless, and ill-concieved statement is a large, pooly designed button in the PvP character creation panel that says: "UNLOCK ALL SKILLS, because I am too lazy to play the game as it was intended to be played."

i vaguely remember back before the farming nerf when runes were topping 100 plat

so farmers that were flooding the market didnt seem to lower the price any

funny how with the farming nerfed and having a rune trader the price has dropped in spite of the farming nerf

Yes but back before they nerfed farming we didn't have the rune trader.

so would 80% of the players of the game... PvP is what made Guildwars Unique from other mmorpgs, that and protected instances where you don't have to worry about thieves jumping in in the middle of a battle and stealing your loot. Alla Worlds of warcraft. The PvP and GvG aspects of the game are the core values of guildwars. its what they intended to make from the beginning. the PvE portion was there, yes, for testing purposes, and developed into a interesting story, although not that original. and it didn't have to be either. it worked as it was... Even when prince the prince would run off consistently and get himself killed every time. but so what. we played it through and enjoyed it. but the core of the game that all the reviewers say is the heart of what makes this game unique is the PvP and GvG battles. without it, its just another RPG in a can...

...ok, I need to say this.

That 80% is WAY off. ...way off. The majority of the people playing this game enjoy a little of both I'd have to say...at least that's how it is in my guild, and...with nearly everyone else I've spoken to in-game. Why would 80% of the people buy the game if they only wanted to play half of it?

ok that could be... but I can say this... when I go to the ring of fire missions I rarely see many people there, but I see Tons of people in Tomb... why? PvP of course. and I never have a problem getting a guild match which means there is a large majority just sitting waiting for a opponent to come along to play... I would love to see a true breakdown of pvp matches. wait for the summer tournament to begin. that will show the popularity of PvP... or it should . If I'm wrong, I'll stand corrected... But I can't believe that people will want to play the PvE portion against mindless NPCs when there are people to kill in the game that actually fight back with some skill...
Once you kill your first player character its almost a shame to go back to NPCs... the satisfaction is not the same...

so that being said, I'm willing to believe that its more like 50 or 60% is PvE Only and anywhere from 30 ro 40% is PvP primarily... with a small mix that is both... still... it would be a significant number of players to loose if PvP was taken from the game entirely..

i agree the 80 is deluded but to answer your question.

i bought it for half the game.......the RPG nine tenths of the game and i am happy to give the pvp players their small corner as well
